RUNNING LATE

Blueberry Spritz

INGREDIENTS

​

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 drop of vanilla extract

  • 1 cup sparkling water or Club soda

  • Crushed ice

  • Fresh blueberries and a lemon twist for garnish

Make it a cocktail: replace vanilla extract with 1.5 oz of vanilla vodka.

INSTRUCTIONS

​

  1. Optionally, rim a glass with pancake syrup and dip it into crushed graham crackers for a pancake-like rim.

  2. In a shaker, muddle fresh blueberries to release their juices.

  3. Add maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.

  4. Shake well to combine.

  5. Double strain into a glass with crushed ice.

  6. Top with Sparkling Water: Stir gently to mix.

  7. Garnish with a skewer of fresh blueberries and lemon peel.
