The dynamic duo grew up on Long Island and met in the 6th grade. These childhood best friends moved to NYC to start their careers. After years in their respected professions, the 2020 pandemic brought their lives to a halt. Brittany & Cristian saw the opportunity to create a business together and their multi-sensory candle company was born in their apartment in Washington Heights.
Candles you can smell, taste, & hear
The pandemic was a loneliness accelerator that caused people to retreat into their homes. This lead to an immediate digital lifestyle. During this isolation period people lost connection to the very things that make us human; our 5 senses. Nearly everyone was facing overstimulation from the world's events yet under-stimulated in our everyday living.
However, people continued to celebrate life with virtual birthday parties and weddings through Zoom. We noticed this trend and sought out to create a tool for this new normal. A colorful multi-sensory experience through something unassuming; a candle!
We designed playlists and mocktail/cocktail recipes with candle scents so people could enjoy the same fun and joyful party ambiance from afar.
Start-Up Journey
As things started re-opening, we didn’t stop at becoming the first candle brand to curate a party in a jar.

In 2021 we opened a storefront in the heart of Bushwick Brooklyn.

By 2022 we entered the wholesale market and are now carried in 60+ stores throughout the US.

Eventually these successes caught the eyes of future collaborators such as the Museum of Sex, Chicago The Broadway Musical, and Bleecker Street Production
Today, we aim to empower curious creatives through the art of fragrance, because even after the pandemic, those underlying feelings of isolation and overstimulation persisted for many New Yorkers.
Multi-Sensory Experience
2025 marked a pivotal change in our business as we expanded our storefront and built our Candle Making Speakeasy. Now our customers can attend a candle workshop that slows down their mind and immerses their noses into a scent exploration.
Through communal, hands-on fragrance education, Nose Best offers an intentional pause that shifts attention away from screens and redirects it back to the 5 senses. But most importantly it brings us back to each other. If there's anything we love it's hosting a fun party.
Being able to bring strangers together to smell fragrances, play games, and enjoy each other's company has created a new era in our story. We're focused on building community & teaching our guests skills they can take home with them.
